French born Brigitte Giblin has been making quilts since the early 1980s and teaching patchwork and quilting for almost 30 years. Her love of fabric has developed from traditional and reproduction origins to more whimsical styles while keeping with traditional patchwork methods. A love of English Paper Piecing combined with applique, hand-piecing and Broderie Perse are used throughout her work to create traditional designs with a modern twist. Her fabric choices tend towards light and bright colours giving vintage quilts a fresh approach.
Brigitte has taught extensively in Australia, New Zealand, the US and Europe. Her patterns have been published internationally in books and magazines and she has published 2 previous books with French publisher Quiltmania “Feathering the Nest with Vintage Inspired Quilts” books 1 & 2.
