Learn more about Jane Lury

Jane Lury has been in love with history and with textiles since she first learned to read; at about the same time her grandmother taught her to knit. She turned away from those passions to focus on earning a B.A. in Government from Smith College and a PhD in Psychology from the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research.

She also spent alot of time with horses. In the 1970’s she acquired an old brownstone in New York and she happily became a busy psychotherapist in private practice.

Afterwards she fell in love with quilts (and with David Hupert). Jane is intensely interested in what matters to people: and curious about the other animals, vegetables and minerals that make up our planet. She loves to travel and “meanders” a great deal.
